I took a couple of pictures of my small gardens I have growing out back.
Just starting to see vines forming on the pumkin plants.
I will post more when we start to see the pumpkins and peppers forming!

7 Month Post Op Today
Well, I have made it to my 7 month post gastric bypass. I have lost 122 pounds since surgery. Nothing really new to report this month. Weight is still coming off 2-4 pounds a week. Usually around 3 pounds a week. It is amazing to me that my weight loss has never slowed down, since surgery. Although, I still eat the same amount since then, so that probably has a lot to do with it.
Still eating the same types of things. The past couple of weeks, I have had cantaloupe and cherries. My husband always picks up that stuff. I really want to stay away from fruit while I am in the losing part of this journey. I have been having one sliver of the cantaloupe or about 10 cherries a day. I have apples as a back up. My surgeon said she would rather me not eat fruit for now, but honestly, I just need some sort of sweet every day. It makes me feel like a human. Still eating beans everyday with cheese, I don’t see that changing anything time soon.
I am making a pork loin roast today. I hope that will be good. One thing I have a problem with is just no appetite for meats lately. They taste horrible to me.
My birthday is this week. I ordered myself a new purse and wallet. I really do nothing for myself, especially the past 10 years, since having kids. I feel like I deserve this. I need to start putting myself up there with needs to be met.
My mother-in-law is in town for the next 2 weeks. She stays at a hotel with a pool, so the kids go over everyday to spend the day at the pool with her. They go shopping and out to lunch. My husband and I then go over for dinner with all of us every day for the two weeks. The kids love it and it gives me a small break. By the time the 2 weeks are over I miss my kids being here during the daytime. I realize it is good for them to spend time with her.
As soon as I hit the 199 mark I am getting some new clothes. Looking forward to that!
I love the quote of the day: Success is a journey, not a destination.

One Year Post Op
A few days ago i hit 1 year post op. I was 179 pounds at one year. I lost 165 pounds since surgery, at one year out. I am very happy with my loss. I would like to get to 160. The weight is coming off much slower now but is still coming off. I hope to be to that goal by next June.
I really don’t forsee ever gaining this weight back. I simply can not eat more than 1/2 cup of food at a time. Sugar and carbs make me sick.
I am staying on track with vitamins and calcium. I am very thankful for creamy bites. They saved me! I could not stand choking down those giant horse size calcium pills anymore.
At one year, I can finally say the hair loss has stopped, or is at a very minimal loss now. I assume my loss coninuted due to the fact I was losing this entire year, and since the loss has slowed, so has the hair loss.
I still eat under 1000 calories a day. When I get closer to goal I will move up the calories a little bit.
Thanksgiving was easy this year, had no troubles. Christmas was a different story. There was so much candy and cookies and stuff, ham… potatoes… it was crazy and I am glad that is over. I did have a few small cookies here and there. The difference is, I had 1 or 2 small cookies in a day, not 12 or more, like maybe in the past.
At a year out, I can say, I am happy with my decision. I have no regrets at all.
I will update my 1 year photo soon.
Good luck to everyone that has had the surgery and the people who are considering it. It worked for me!
